How To
Attach Your Vinyl Retro-Reflective Patch!

Your Nightfire Patches™ Vinyl Retro-Reflective Patch is designed to be attached to a hard, cleanable surface. Before attempting to attach your Vinyl Reflective Patch, we suggest you watch the video below. We want you to get the best results possible, and enjoy the retro-reflective effect of your Vinyl Reflective Patch.

When you attach your Vinyl Reflective Patch, keep in mind that you will get smoother, more professional results if you slowly and patiently take your time with the process.

  1. Clean your hands, and clean the surface to which you will ultimately attach your Vinyl Reflective Patch according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Determine the location and position of your Vinyl Reflective Patch BEFORE you begin to peel or attach the Vinyl Reflective Patch. If there are separate segments of your Vinyl Reflective Patch, it will be easier to cut them apart and attach each segment separately.
  3. TAKE YOUR TIME...don't rush. You may want to use tape to mark a level line above or below the area where you want to place your Vinyl Reflective Patch, for guidance. Do not attach the Vinyl Reflective Patch to the tape, or cover your Vinyl Reflective Patch with tape.
  4. Most Nightfire Patches™ Vinyl Retro-Reflective Patches have a semi-clear plastic-type cover on part or all of its retro-reflective surface. Simply lift the clear. Visually align your Vinyl Reflective Patch before you touch it to the surface. It is very sticky and you want to get it right before placing it. Press and smooth the Vinyl Reflective Patch on the location surface with your finger, a little bit at a time. A slight rolling action with a finger or thumb may be useful. Do not stretch or rub the Vinyl Reflective Patch. TAKE YOUR TIME. The Patch is very sticky. You may be able to lift the Patch to correct some errors, but it can be broken or stretched if this process is rushed. Once your Vinyl Reflective Patch is smoothly attached, simply lift part of the clear piece, and gently peel it back from the attached Vinyl Reflective Patch.
  5. If your Vinyl Reflective Patch does not have the semi-clear cover SLOWLY pull up just the beginning of the edge of the Vinyl Reflective Patch that is nearest the paper backing edge. This is designed as the best place to begin separating the Vinyl Reflective Patch from the paper backing. Fold a small part of the paper backing down, so that it is not in the way of the freed sticky edge of the Patch. Stick the peeled edge to the cleaned, desired location surface.
  6. Gently and slowly roll the paper backing away from the Vinyl Reflective Patch, as you press and smooth the Vinyl Reflective Patch on the location surface with your finger, a little bit at a time.

Your Vinyl Reflective Patch is intended to provide long-term retro-reflectivity. If at some point you should wish to change or remove it, simply peel or scrape with your fingernail to release it from the surface, and clean off any sticky residue with a cleaner appropriate to the location surface. We do not recommend using any sharp or abrasive objects to remove your Vinyl Reflective Patch, since this could cause damage.

Thank you for purchasing a Nightfire Patches™ product!
